From Estonia to Ireland — Bringing European Water Purification Expertise to a New Market
AQUASYNTARIS LIMITED was founded in Ireland in spring 2026 by Artur Pähn and Kate Pähn, a married couple from Estonia who decided to turn their professional experience and shared vision into a family business after relocating to Ireland.
Before founding AQUASYNTARIS, Artur held senior management positions at Eesti Energia, Estonia's leading energy company, where he gained extensive experience in managing complex projects, technology and operations. He also holds a Master's degree in engineering.
Kate brings over 10 years of direct experience from AQUAPHOR's main manufacturing facility in Narva, Estonia. Throughout her career, she coordinated major international projects involving the design, manufacturing and delivery of large-scale industrial water purification systems to customers across the globe. Her expertise covers the entire process, from initial project planning to the delivery of sophisticated water treatment solutions.
Together, they recognised an opportunity: although AQUAPHOR is an established international manufacturer with decades of experience in water purification technology, its products were still relatively unknown in Ireland.
With their combined backgrounds in engineering, project management and water treatment technology, Artur and Kate decided to bring AQUAPHOR's innovative solutions to the Irish market.
Today, AQUASYNTARIS LIMITED is a Cork-based family business dedicated to making reliable, high-quality European water purification technology accessible to Irish homes, businesses and industries.

Aquaphor is a water treatment manufacturer founded in 1992. Over more than three decades, the company has grown from faucet filters and jug cartridges into one of Europe's best-known names in household and commercial water purification.
